It’s been a while since I last made pajamas for my girls, so I happily joined in with the Project Run and Play Pajama Party Tour going on! After reading some of the other posts in the tour, I might have misinterpreted the intent by using a nightgown pattern to make pajamas. I now understand that I was supposed to use non pajama patterns to create clothing for slumbering – whoops!
I used the Rita Dress and Nightgown pattern by Suco by Susana and we couldn’t be happier. There are several options for length and ruffles, sleeve length and cuffs or hemmed so each girl could customize her own gown to suit themselves.
We tidied up Arden’s room for a little photo shoot, some together and some separately. Perhaps I need to use other rooms in my house for photos so I have incentive to clean up?
Hadley chose the knee length gown with no ruffle, and the long sleeves with a cuff. She’s been wearing pajama bottoms underneath since the nightgown was released into her custody after photos were taken. I know I’m not the only one who holds onto clothes until after photos are taken, right?
Arden chose the ankle length with ruffle and hemmed long sleeves. I really need to remember that her arms are longer than her overall height indicates because the sleeves are definitely too short while the dress length is just right. On that – Arden has very few maxi or ankle length items so she’s had to become familiar with holding up the hem to go up stairs. She’s also now discovered the phenomenon of waking up with her nightgown wadded up around her waist. She does not keep still in her sleep!
Both fabrics were provided by Raspberry Creek Fabrics. Hadley chose this adorable nutcracker print in double brushed polyester. I love that it has a holiday feel without being Christmas-y so it will be worn all through the colder winter months. This print has retired with the holiday line, but I’ve linked to the club fabrics where you can find loads of other exclusive designs.
Arden being our nature lover chose this winter wonderland forest print, also in double brushed polyester. This print suits her so well, with the trees and deer and moose scattered about.
To celebrate the Pajama Party Tour, Project Run and Play made these great bedtime themed digital files. If you sign up for the new newsletter, you get to choose one of these files for free, AND one winner will get the entire set! Sign up for the newsletter on the Project Run and Play blog here.
