If you’re part of the sewing community in any shape or form – and I expect if you’re reading my blog that I’m talking to the correct target audience – you’ve heard of Me Made May, or #MMMay. Â Just in case you haven’t heard of it, it’s an event where sewists commit to some level of wearing and sharing their makes during the month of May.
It began with and is hosted by Zoe, a UK-based blogger at So, Zo… What do you know? Â I highly encourage you to sign up and state your intentions to share your makes in May on this post. Â I’ve made a commitment and plan to share on Instagram and Facebook.
While you’re wearing and sharing makes for yourself, what about sharing some of those garments for the tiny people in your life? Â I think they’d enjoy taking part and adding to the fun, right? Â So let’s join #MMMay with some Mom Made May, or #mommmay (which ironically sounds a lot like the siren song of a kid wanting something NOW! amiright?)
This is in no way intended to detract or take away from the original Me Made May.  I love the way we can carve out little corners of social media to join together into a little virtual flash mob and I think there’s always room for more.
So, join me during the month of May to share your makes for your kids. Â No rules, no prizes, no expectations. Â Share each day, one time, once a week – anything goes! Â If you’re a goal setting kind of person, go ahead and comment with what you’d like to accomplish. Â I’d love if you’d follow me on Instagram @jennuinedesign.
I like the idea, count me in! 🙂
