I normally try to post a little earlier in the day, but in addition to being Kids Clothes Week it’s also spring break for Arden. Â We spent the day today exploring a bit in our new state and went to Sandy Hook for some beach time. Â After we got home, we dashed to Arden’s elementary school for some quick photos.
Here are the modeled photos of the dress I shared flat yesterday.
… and here’s the back with a preview of Hadley in her new LOL Swing Top out of a deer panel, also from Bambiblauw.
Because this isn’t just any ol’ fabric, I made a size 6 even though Hadley wears a size 5T. Â With the rate she grows I wanted to be sure she’d get to wear it as much as possible. Â Also as the girls’ sizes are converging, I figure there’ll be a bit of clothing sharing. Â I’m already seeing that some things I’ve bought or made with one in mind ends up being favored by the other.
The only modification I made to the pattern is to make it slightly narrower in the back, because the pattern piece for the back was wider than the panel. Â It still has swing to spare!
I used the small repeat part of the panel for the bottom of the back, and I had enough of the front panel left to make the yoke with the confetti at the top. Â The yoke is lined with the small deer.
Hadley is sporting a pair of Freshly Picked moccasins that I bought from my friend Sarah of EmmylouBeeDoo/LouBeeClothing/Red Bird Kids. Â Her daughter didn’t care for them, but Hadley wore them to bed the first night we had them!
Sisters gotta hug!
Absolutely adorable girls, and I need, need, need some of that fabric!
I can’t even tell which one I love the most. Good job!
Ahhh….so cute! I love, love, love the fabric you used! And wearing her mocs to bed…so sweet!
