Recently I had the pleasure of pattern testing Made by Rae’s newest pattern, Bianca.
I chose to make the tunic top since I don’t wear dresses as often as I do tops. Â The fabric is rayon challis I got from Fabric.com *affiliate link. Â It’s little tiny hearts and I made Arden’s Marina Romper from the same fabric.
This fabric makes a really soft, drapey top and aside from being a little slippy to cut it’s really nice to sew.
The pattern includes great instructions for adjusting the fit so that the bodice front lands just under your bustline. Â I added 1″ to the front facing after measuring myself. Â You can choose to do the facing on the inside like I did, or you can place it on the outside and use contrasting fabric for a different style. Â Check out some of the other testers’ versions here.
Now, if only I can get better at taking photos of myself! Â I took these back in March before I bought a remote for my camera, so this is the result of the “trot back and forth and take ten timed photos of myself” method.
There’s an elastic casing across the back so it has the comfiness of a knit with the polish of a woven garment.
And it looks super cute with a cardigan!
This is yet another Made by Rae sewing pattern that gets two enthusiastic thumbs up from me!
