The fabrics I used are a polyester blend bouclé and the lining fabric is a premium quilting cotton, both from Jo-Ann Fabrics. I wanted to make it a nice fall-weight coat and I’m pleased with how these fabrics worked. Polyester isn’t terribly forgiving of too hot an iron for things like the collar or pockets, so I used wonder tape where I could instead of pressing.
How fun is that lining? The pattern was great to work with and the fit was excellent. I added understitching along the collar and edgestitched the entire coat because I felt it made the collar lay a little nicer and made the coat look more tailored.
Arden found the last lonely daisy along our driveway and then some tiny daisies I think are called fleabane poking through from the neighbor’s side of the fence.
Run, don’t walk to your computer and get your pattern today! I’ve got my eye on some other pieces from the collection, but it’ll have to wait until I get Hadley’s birthday dress and Halloween costumes tied up.
What an adorable coat! It looks so sweet on your girl!
I am such a sucker for cute coats.
Awesome.

Love the pink! Great job!
Your little girl looks adorable in the coat! I love the big buttons and the lining is so fun!
Beautiful! I love the color and the lining fabric is so pretty. I’ve always been curious about under stitching. One day I’ll try it out! I’ve made button holes without the attachment before and it is no fun! So glad you were able to finish them.
