Another Sally Dress

As promised, here are some more pictures from Sally Dress testing.  I made the short sleeve version for this test.  This was not the final version of the pattern, so if you notice the bodice is a little wide on Hadley; it is narrower in the pattern available for sale.

The fabric is Running Stitch in Raspberry by Patty Young for Michael Miller from Pink Castle Fabrics.  I was looking for two fabrics that were geometric and directional so I could turn the bodice and pockets cross-grain for each dress.  I prefer coordinating without being matchy-matchy for my girls.  Here also is the mini pom pom trim as I made this dress before the one for Arden.

Look how big Hadley is getting!  She’s going to be two in October and I’m so not ready!  I’m already having to contemplate 3T clothing for her – she’s just so tall for her age!

I had actually been assigned to test the 2T version for Shannon, but since I love this dress so much and both my girls were exactly the standard measurements for testing I went ahead and made versions for both of them.

Aren’t they the cutest?  Of course I didn’t share the next photo where Hadley is shoving Arden off her and screeching!

Here they’re watching a horse being unloaded from a trailer nearby.  We were taking these photos in front of the old horse barns at our local County fairgrounds the day before the fair began.  I discovered these barns three years ago shortly after getting my DSLR and have made sure to shoot in front of them every year since.

I made one more set of dresses, but I’m going to hold off sharing them because Shannon has invited me to be part of her pattern tour beginning towards the end of September.  So excited to be a part of this great tour!  Watch for what I’m sure will be some amazing versions of the Sally Dress.  This would be a perfect back to school dress and with it being a relatively quick sew you still have time if your school begins after Labor Day!

    They look so adorable together!
Note to self: Stock up on mini pom trim, and try to braid Reli’s hair. Both are precious!
