I have finally begun building my double daybed design! No fault to be placed – I had vacations, Sandra had obligations, and life in general just kept pushing things back. In case you hadn’t seen what this whole Sawdust diaries thing is about, I won something amazing! Sandra from Sawdust Girl and now Sawdust Diaries {…Continue Reading}

Intent
A long while ago I had picked up a bunch of these little bird houses at Jo-Ann. The intent was for them to become part of Hadley’s bird and tree nursery. I kept several to hopefully fulfill that plan and the rest were released into Arden’s care. She is so intent on her task – love it!
Easiest. Dress. Ever.
Okay, maybe not the easiest dress ever since my sewing machine wasn’t cooperating with my overcast foot. I wanted to finish the hem of the skirt a little nicer than raw edge and couldn’t find matching serger thread (and who wants to re-thread a serger anyway?). I “made it work” and it’s finished now. All {…Continue Reading}
Sew-vivor: I Made It To Round Two!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! to everyone who voted for The Matinée Dress. It was my lucky day that the host and the rest of the participants decided to narrow to 7 instead of 5 or I would be writing a different post today. It makes me so happy because I’m really excited about the {…Continue Reading}

So lots of action, but nothing I can share with you just yet. My first challenge for Sew-vivor is complete and photographed, so I’m all set {…Continue Reading}

Planning for Arden’s Rainbow birthday party has been really fun. Â There’s no lack of inspiration out there, so when I was getting ready to make her rainbow birthday dress, I showed her my Pinterest board where I had been gathering ideas and she chose from this dress from among them. We went to Jo-Ann’s and {…Continue Reading}
Four
Oh, Arden. Another year passed by in what seems a blink of an eye. I suppose having an infant in the house on the year you turn four can do that. You’ve grown and changed so much over this past year – just look at you and what you’ve done! You went on your first {…Continue Reading}
We Went Boom…
This past Sunday the weather was per-fect for sledding: 40 degrees, sunny, and there was plenty of snow on the ground. So I gathered up the girls and headed to our local sledding spot – the slope off a bridge over a river. Arden’s first trip down a sledding hill: And Hadley and me (with {…Continue Reading}
Rainbow Party Planning: Invitations
Arden chooses the theme for her birthday party each year. This year she went back and forth between a Doc McStuffins party, various single colors, and a brief stint as a ballerina party before finally arriving at a rainbow party. Or, it’s just that I said enough’s enough and I have to get the invitations {…Continue Reading}
Men’s Dress Shirts Into Wrap Dress/Tunic
I can’t believe it’s week 5 of Project Run & Play and the accompanying sew along! The competitors are making amazing looks and it’s been so so fun to play along. This week’s theme is the Men’s Dress Shirt challenge. Lucky for me, hubby Dave has recently lost a significant amount of weight and no longer {…Continue Reading}
