Nursery Prep: Valance

I whipped up this cute little valance for the nursery yesterday.  I used the same quilt squares with the gathered centers as in the crib quilt here.

I used all leftovers from the quilt and had to be pretty creative about getting enough eeked out of the scraps I had left.

Just one little problem… one block had the cute little birdies in it and is the only one which was directional.  And I put it together upside-down.  For now, I’m planning to live with it because I have other projects to get finished and this won’t be a quick repair.  Drat!  I hate it when that happens!  I think I started to rush because I had just spent about half an hour trying to get my serger re-threaded and it wasn’t working, and I couldn’t see so I gave up on it and finished the edges a different way.

See?  Upside down birdies.  Think I could get away with saying it was intentional to see if anyone noticed?

The nursery is looking so cute! I think you must be due around the same time as me but I haven’t even started on a quilt yet! I did order fabric though – very exciting. I might just copy your idea of a valance with extra blocks.
