That’s my itty bitty Etsy Shop, Jennuine Design. I opened it last year and made like four sales of pinafores and drool bibs in 2011. This year I listed my nautical flag banners and those have been really popular. Pretty exciting, huh?
Well, that’s nothing compared to…
Have you heard of One Kings Lane? They’re an “elegant, curated online sales site. We bring our members a spectacular, hand-picked selection of top-brand and designer items at up to 70% off suggested retail prices.”
Well, they approached me about selling ready-made nautical banners for a summer promotion they’re doing. Me. They want my banners. That I make in my home studio dining room during nap time and in the evening.
I’m sorta freaking out about this because they would like a TON of them, and I know there’s no way I can make that many in the timeframe they’ve proposed. But at the same time I’m sort of digging on the challenge of it all. Plus on top of that, they recommend having other products that flag buyers might be interested in during the sale period.
So, if I’m a little absent for the next several weeks, just picture me bent over my sewing machine cranking out signal flags.
Would you be excited by or fearful of this sort of opportunity? I’ve got a few ideas for coordinating items to list in my shop – do you have any suggestions?
Oh my gosh…that is wonderful!! Very exciting challenge!
