Verona Dress and Pattern Tester Blog Tour

Are you ready?  The Verona Dress Pattern Tester Blog Tour is beginning tomorrow!  I always organize a tour for any of my testers who blog and want to share what they’ve made.  For the Verona Dress, we waited until after the exclusive release with UpCraft Club was finished and the pattern available in my own shop.

I’m so excited to see what they all have to share over the next week!

Meanwhile, I finally finished the version I began for the video tutorial I made to show how to do the bodice construction.  The neckline has been raised a little during testing, so even though I’m comfortable with this depth, the final pattern is a smidge higher, and the back neckline is correspondingly a little lower.  We worked really hard to get the proportions right, but still allow heads to fit through easily.

At the back there’s a slit with a button and loop for the smallest sizes and an optional notch for bigger kiddos with large heads so nobody gets stuck in their dresses!

The Verona Dress pattern has instructions for adding an optional tulle layer to the underskirt, and I added that to mine.  Not surprisingly, Arden loves it!  Perfect for twirling, but being between the two skirts keeps it from annoying her.

The tulle I had on hand is a very pale pink and I was worried it wouldn’t show at all.  However, once gathered, it is just the right amount of something extra.  The way it holds the overskirt out a bit really makes it feel special!

She’s a little bit princess, a little bit rocker chic with her patent leather boots from Livie & Luca.  Sadly these really don’t fit her any more, so they’ll be stored for Hadley to grow into and for me to enjoy again!

Mwah!  See you tomorrow!
