Lifetime should broadcast Project Run & Play. For real. I LOVE Project Runway, and I LOVE Project Run & Play.
I’ve followed PR&P from the very beginning – the first season ran simultaneously with Shwin & Shwin’s Project Toddler Runway and I was a competitor. Shauna from Shwin & Shwin competed in PR&P while hosting and sewing inspiration pieces for PTR. It makes me tired just thinking about it… I sewed along with the most recent season of PR&P in an attempt to mimic actually participating in the competition.
So Lifetime, if somehow you happen to read this – and Simple Simon, I seriously think you need to approach the producers with the idea.
Here’s how it could work – the designers need to create all the typical challenges, but things in the Run & Play world are a little more complicated than reality TV:
- They would need to create all their looks while simultaneously caring for and keeping their children/models occupied. Remember the challenge on Project Runway for Heidi’s new children’s fashion line where they had “live” babies? Like that, only Tim won’t swoop in to babysit them.
- Points will be deducted if their child/model throws a tantrum and refuses to wear their creation.
- Points deducted if their child/model refuses to walk the runway.
- In addition to the runway show, the designers need to stage elaborate photo shoots and use whatever means (cough * candy bribe * cough) necessary to accomplish cooperation.
Looks like I might lose some major points in my format. This was how Hadley looked for all but ONE of the photos when I shot her for the Men’s Dress shirt challenge. Here’s the keeper and you can’t even see the front of the dress:
Would you watch Project Toddler Runway on TV? I know I would – it can’t be worse than Honey Boo Boo!!
you know how season 11 is the teams season, maybe they could have a future season be a children’s wear season…
oh my gosh that is hilarious! I double love project runway too–
