I have one last Valentine to share with you. With the cold weather, hubby Dave has been building cozy fires in the fireplace. Additionally, one of the igniters on our gas stove stopped working, so we need to light that manually. So I thought this project would be a fun little gift for him on Valentine’s Day.
I only needed to buy a couple boxes of wooden matches at $.99 each. I had the mason jars on hand.
I had planned to use fine grit sandpaper as the strike for the matches, but a test run proved that didn’t work – too bad; I liked the look of the black sandpaper. So I improvised and cut the two strips off the box and pieced them together with packing tape, cut it to size and tucked it under the lid.
I made a simple graphic and decided not to play with my new Silhouette and hand cut instead so this was an easy project even without a cutter.
