Things are really getting down to the wire around here in baby growing land, and trust me – I’m feeling it!
I’ve really slowed down lately: becoming so cumbersome with belly. I shouldn’t complain though, at this point in Arden’s pregnancy, I had been on bed rest for a couple of weeks with gestational hypertension. My BP has been great this pregnancy – rivaling healthy non-pregnant readings. I also haven’t had nearly the level of back or pelvic floor pain as I did during my first pregnancy. I have to keep reminding myself of this because the “normal” pregnancy back pain and twinges and aches still aren’t fun.
Things around the house are as ready as they need to be to be able to bring our baby girl home. I still have some projects for the nursery left to do, but none of those projects are essential and I should have plenty of time once I’m home on maternity leave with help from family to keep big sister occupied. I didn’t find having a newborn around hindered me from accomplishing things around the house since we babywear and Arden would sleep forever as long as she was cuddled in close.
So now it’s just the waiting game. I’m having some significant Braxton-Hicks contractions, but so far nothing that becomes regular. We’ve been offered a voluntary induction anytime after Tuesday, but I don’t think we’re planning on going that route (at least that’s what I’m saying today!).
You are soooo close! How nice to have your sweet baby girl before the holidays. Any names picked out???
What type of babywear do you recommend?
We have names all set – will share when Baby Girl arrives!
We used a Peanut Shell sling with Arden, but I’m planning to get a Moby wrap to try out with this one. I’ve heard good things about the double shoulder support and various wrap methods.
