I whipped up this cute little valance for the nursery yesterday. I used the same quilt squares with the gathered centers as in the crib quilt here.
I used all leftovers from the quilt and had to be pretty creative about getting enough eeked out of the scraps I had left.
Just one little problem… one block had the cute little birdies in it and is the only one which was directional. And I put it together upside-down. For now, I’m planning to live with it because I have other projects to get finished and this won’t be a quick repair. Drat! I hate it when that happens! I think I started to rush because I had just spent about half an hour trying to get my serger re-threaded and it wasn’t working, and I couldn’t see so I gave up on it and finished the edges a different way.
Very cute curtains! I honestly didnt notice the lil birds until you said something! Can’t wait to see more!

This post made me smile. Thanks for inspiring me and many others to even attempt this feat. Really appreciate that you linked up at the Creative Bloggers’ Party & Hop.
The nursery is looking so cute! I think you must be due around the same time as me but I haven’t even started on a quilt yet! I did order fabric though – very exciting. I might just copy your idea of a valance with extra blocks.
