Voting for the first week of Project Toddler Runway is closed, and…
My yellow and gray dress project received the most votes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was so nervous all weekend – lurking on Shwin&Shwin’s blog practically nonstop!
The challenge was “The Shirt Off Your Back”, or an upcycle challenge. I have a drawer in my sewing desk devoted to clothes that I love but don’t fit anymore, so this challenge was right up my alley! I grabbed this gray striped shirt and yellow dress that are never going to fit back over my mommified chest and went to town.
But… Guess what else I have in my “to be refashioned” drawer? Yup – fixin’s for another dress so I can make a tutorial. This design would work for almost any short-sleeved woven shirt and skirt. I guess I can call it the Arden dress after my daughter – thoughts?
I don’t know how long it will take me to get a tutorial put together, since I’m busy making my “Wear a Flower In Your Hair” challenge for week 2. I’ll do my very, very best to get it done soon – promise.
I’ll also put together a tutorial for my pocket purse – I love how this turned out, and it could be sized up to fit an adult!
congratulations! I love your version of the Jumprope Dress! I made one in her roundabout dots fabric a while back for my local fabric store…I blogged about it if you are interested in checking it out. Anyway, I can’t wait to see what you have in store for this weeks challenge! I posted your dress on my page with a link to your blog…I hope that’s alright with you. Come by this Wednesday and Saturday if you have time. I will be posting two giveaways this week.
Love the “fabric” choices for your Arden dress! Oh so cute! I need to go look at this pattern!
Congrats on winning! Love the idea and can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeve. Or… I your drawer!
i would LOVE for you to post a tutorial on this. This is gorgeous and I love it! Great job!
Is that the skirt that we bought at LOFT during your girls’ weekend in Chicago???? 🙂
