Today’s challenge for A Bowl Full of Lemons’ 21 Day Organization challenge is TOY ORGANIZATION. Sort of scary, so I thought it deserved all caps.
Our toys aren’t really all that bad, since we put everything into bins. I LOVE these Tubtrug bins – when we’re all done with toy storage they can become garden or garage storage since they were designed for use in gardens or as livestock feed tubs.
The problem was more that we had toys stored all around our living room:
Arden was still awake for my “before” photo session and was demonstrating that she can now easily reach the third shelf of the bookcase. Great.
I didn’t take very many after photos because everything is in bins it doesn’t really show much. I took everything out of the Tubtrug and washed it out (dog hair gets in everything) and only put back what Arden plays with. Most of her soft toys or wooden toys went up to her room, since Sophie keeps stealing things and these are her go-to categories for thievery. We have to hide our socks, too. And underwear. And used tissues have to go into a garbage can with lids – that’s more Laser’s area. I could go on… I also moved her play house to in front of the fireplace to see if it gets used in a more prominent area. If not, then I’ll retire it to storage for Thing 2, whenever that should occur.
I really like those bins. I haven’t seen those before {and I’ve seen a lot of bins}. Keeping up with kids toys can be challenging, but you’re doing great!
