Darn it. I really hoped I wasn’t going to have to show everyone my deep dark… basement. Keep in mind, our house was built in 1918. “Laundry room” wasn’t even a concept then, so our washer and dryer are in the basement. For almost a century old, this isn’t really that bad, but I know I’m going to have some serious laundry room envy when I go check out everyone else’s posts.
So here it is. As far as clutter goes, it’s not that bad. I guess when you only have three surfaces to clutter, you can only do so much damage.
The inside of the cabinet is a little chaotic.
So I cleared everything out, wiped down the shelves (these cabinets were apparently in the kitchen before the previous owners remodeled), and rearranged everything; putting less-frequently used and extra cleansers in the bottom cabinet which had previously been empty.
Bottom cabinet now stocked with bleach and extra detergent.
So, that’s my dirty little secret. Please, please don’t make me show the storage rooms!
I think you could paint that wall behind your laundry your favorite color and really liven the place up! Or you could hang a sheet or some inexpensive curtains or fabric from a thrift store? Tension rod, or just run a string from one place to another and drape some fabric over the top, anything to get rid of the dull, gray, cinder block. Just my thoughts. Good job cleaning up, though.
